Journey: When I was diagnosed with scoliosis, I never knew the position I would be in 8 months later. I had been competing [for dance] when my Mum had noticed a curve in my spine. I had always thought I had mild scoliosis and I would need a brace at the most, but surgery was my only option. I had my surgery when I was only 12 years old, and it was my first every surgery which was very scary. Coming up for surgery I set up an Instagram account to help others who were going through the same thing who helps me prepare.
Advice: If you are ever going through a hard time, just remember you are never alone. Keep positive and if you are ever struggling, remember that storms never last forever. If you ever need any help, reach out to someone you trust and believe you can do it. Never doubt yourself. Scoliosis will never define you, it will only strengthen you.
